Take a BOLD Leap
Forward! — Leadership Boulder County 2007
Now in its 26th year, Leadership Boulder County is
a five month program that, introduces participants
to prominent leaders in their community and educates
them about a wide variety of Boulder County programs
and institutions. The program focuses on local and
regional issues and participants are exposed to a variety
of leadership styles.
Leadership Boulder County sessions are held every
other week from January thru May and participants are
required to complete a group community service project.
Sessions involve interaction with elected officials
and leaders, panel presentations, question and answer
sessions and tours of key facilities throughout Boulder
County, including the jail, newspaper offices, Boulder
Community Hospital and the Boulder County Recycling
and Composting Center.
What's Different this year
This year participants will have the opportunity to
do some prep work prior to each session. “We
wanted to add a more interactive element and give
people the opportunity to learn on their own prior
to each session. That way, they can make the most
of their time with the leaders in that particular
area of our community, “ states Alice Swanson,
Chamber staff person. For example, prior to the Criminal
Justice session, participants will be able to sign
up for ride along with local police officers and
prior to the City/County Government session, they
will attend a city council meeting .
The deadline for applying to the Leadership Boulder
County class of 2007 is December 4 and applications
are available from the Boulder Chamber of Commerce
as well as online at www.boulderchamber.com .
NOTE: Brochures were sent to all Chamber members,
however the applications were not (our apologies).
